What we do
Immigrant Protection & Anti-Trafficking
We defend the rights and safety of immigrants across the world. Our work includes;
Multilingual education on rights, legal status, and available services.
Anti-human trafficking programs that identify risk, raise awareness, and connect survivors to support.
Advocacy with federal agencies and community partners to strengthen protections for vulnerable newcomers
Environment, Climate Action & Combating Desertification
Climate change hits vulnerable communities hardest. OFIPAFD acts on: Tree planting and land restoration projects to combat desertification and protect farmland. Community cleanups and conservation efforts in urban and rural areas. Advocacy for climate policies that include immigrant and low-income voices.
Crime & Fraud Prevention
Immigrants are often targeted by scams and exploitation. OFIPAFD runs: Fraud prevention workshops and public awareness campaigns in multiple languages. Training for community leaders to spot and report trafficking, labor abuse, and financial fraud. Partnerships with law enforcement and legal aid to ensure immigrants can report crime safely.
Peace Building
We reduce tension and build trust between immigrant and host communities through: Intercultural dialogue programs and community mediation. Youth initiatives that bring diverse groups together through arts, sports, and storytelling. Public education that challenges stereotypes and promotes social cohesion.
Sustainable Development & Energy Sustainability
We support long-term community resilience by: Promoting access to renewable energy and energy efficiency programs for low-income households. Educating communities on sustainable practices in housing, transport, and consumption. Linking sustainable development to economic opportunity for immigrants and marginalised groups.
Industrialization & Economic Opportunity
Economic independence is key to dignity. We provide: Vocational training and job placement in trades, manufacturing, and tech. Support for immigrant entrepreneurs through business training and access to resources. Advocacy to remove barriers to employment and ensure fair labor practices.
Culture Promotion
We celebrate the diversity immigrants bring to Ghana and across the world: Cultural festivals, arts programs, and heritage preservation projects. Intercultural exchange that highlights the contributions of immigrant communities. Partnerships with schools and institutions to include immigrant voices in public culture.
Disability & Women Empowerment
We ensure persons with disabilities, women, including immigrants with disabilities, are not left behind: Advocacy for accessibility in housing, transport, and services. Skills training, employment support, and leadership development. Inclusion of disability access in all OFIPAFD programs and events.
How we Work
OFIPAFD operates through community-based projects and strong partnerships with local government, NGOs, schools, businesses, and federal agencies. We design programs with the people they serve, deliver them in accessible languages, and focus on measurable impact.
